June 26th, 2007 Actions by Dutch Johannes Calvijn primary school
|
|
Dear friends,
During the months June and July the Dutch Johannes Calvijn Primary School in Veenendaal performed several actions for Ceylon Christian Care. With these actions they brought together the large amount of 27,797.60 Euro. We are very happy and thankful for this help !
The money will be used to support the new Christian English Medium school in Batticaloa on Sri Lanka and will be used to: - Purchase play articles - Purchase music instruments - Give to each student a Children’s Bible in the English and a Tamil language - Start a school library
Beside a jumble sale and an auction the children of the school sold more than 1,300 CD’s, 1,600 handcrafted keyring elephants, close to 500 books and 800 packages with postcards. From each class two children with highest individual sale got a present. First prize was for Hanneke Meerkerk who sold over 600 Euro .
We like to thank the school, the children, the teachers and staff and all other participants for this impressive result.
Kind regards, Paul de Waal Ceylon Christian Care |
